Here's a list of Mac's that will run 7.6

I'm sure by "7.6" he means 7.6.1. There wouldn't be any reason to run 7.6(.0) specifically. And the answer is the 9600.

And wouldn't it be easi ...

Sorry, I was looking at Apple's 7.6 compatibility chart, and they don't list the 9600... Information on this varies... 7.6.1 looks like it should work on the 9600. Not sure specifically about 7.6. 7.5 ...
