We finally launched Info-Mac last night. I encourage System 7 Today members to take a look around Info-Mac... you may find the site quite familiar feeling. The entire archive is there, in a database, and searchable, as well as many digest posts.

I hope if any of you have a need to discuss more recent Mac and Apple topics, you'll consider helping us build a community at Info-Mac.

What is the Info-Mac Alpha?

This is the first developmental release of Info-Mac. The community is still far from finished, however most essential aspects are in place, and we'd like to invite users to register and try out the site. Most of the unfinished parts of the site have to do with fine-tuning styles, so beware of ugly pages! The forum and archive are now open for posting, searching, and such. So please, jump in and tell us what you think. If you find any problems or have any comments, post them in the Feedback folder of the forum. Development is moving along quite fast now, so everything should be finished within a few weeks. In that time, you may notice the more unfinished-looking pages changing from day to day.

What can I expect from the new Info-Mac?

The new Info-Mac will be a rich Mac-oriented community. You will be able to initiate and participate in a wide range of discussion topics revolving around Mac OS X and the Macintosh platform. Users will be able to post images, QuickTime videos, Flash files, PDF documents, ZIP archives, and various other file formats to share with others and contribute to the community, up to 50 MB in size.

The new Info-Mac will also feature approved articles and guides on the Info-Mac home page. A system by which any user can submit articles for approval, critique, and revisal will be in place. These articles will be separate from the more casual discussion board and represent cumulative Info-Mac knowledge.

Keeping in touch with Info-Mac past, the entire Info-Mac Archive (dating as far back as 1988), as well as all Info-Mac Digest posts from 1997 - 2002 will be fully integrated into the community - over 1,000 documents and well over 9,000 downloads. You will be able to perform various search actions on the classic Info-Mac content, as well as post new replies and insight to any of the old topics and downloads.

Your link is broken.

Causes Safari 4 (6530.Cool to download a file containing HTML but not labeled such.

Just an FYI.
