Hi all. I use System 7.0.1 on MiniVMac emulator. But I can't install software from .sea.hqx,.sit or .bin files, only from .dsk. files. So,when I put one of the type of these files on System 7.0.1,I see this message http://www.ipix.lt/images/84506304.jpg Sad .I know that hqx or sit files are archives, but how to extract it? Sorry for mistakes, I'm not good in English.

I have never used that emulator so I can only guess here.

From the graphic you have posted, it would appear that you are not even getting to the "I don't recognize what application to use" stage. Instead, it is saying this is a disk in a foreign file format. We can't use it at all. Would you like us to initialize it for Mac use.

The program that does the decompression is Stuffit Expander. It natively handles .sit and .sea files. It has translators for various others depending on what version you are using. It has been available for pretty much all mac operating systems and may already be sitting in your emulator once you get it to actually recognize the files.

I do not know how you get other files into it. You may want to find Stuffit expander for your particular operating system if it is available and decompress the files there and then move them into the emulator.

Just some thoughts

If you don't already have it, download stuffit for your real machine. Extract the files and place them onto a disk image, then mount the disk in your 7.0.1 virtual machine.

I believe this is how I did it.

Thanks for the info for all.

Well,I downloaded Stuffit Expander version 5.0 for Windows (yes, it's really old version, but this is the only version, which I found for free). So, I download, for example this .sit file: http://a.monte.club.fr/Grenier.....erpt11.sit
When I download it, I expand it, and I see three files:

You're not going to be able to move Applications from Windows to Mac OS. You must unstuff them on Mac OS in order for them to work.
