Hi all ! My first post here Smile
I have a nice Powerbook 1400c running 7.6.1 and 8.6, with VST Zip drive in the right extension bay. That drive needs a driver to work , an init called VST SuperDisk. I have version 2.0 of that init. Problem is that it works only with 8.6 . If I try to load it in 7.6.1 , it crashes the system during the extensions loads at boot upů
Anyone here know if the was an earlier driver compatible with Syst 7 ?
Really bothers me to reboot in 8.6 each time I have to use the Zip drive ...

Hi Galgot and welcome!

I found this link : http://macintoshgarden.org/app.....rbook-1400

It sais it is the drivers for the powerbook 1400 version of the VST zip drive. It also sais that it is only compatible with Mac OS 8 -> 9 but it looks strange to me that VST would do a driver for that computer that is not compatible with the default system of that computer. You may try it anyway!

Let me know how it goes!

Thank Feeef Smile
But i think this is the same 2.0 version of the driver. Though I had only the extension file, this is the all install disk. Will try it this evening.
Strange indeed, and if there is a version 2.0, there must have been a 1.0.

Exactly!
Let me know how it goes! If it doesn't work we may just look for this version one indeed! Smile

Just tried it. Doesn't work either :/
macBug says it's indeed "VST SuperDisk" extension that causes the crash at boot.
Must find an earlier version...
