I have posted before, but this my first post using System 7.6.1.

I have an 8600/300 that has been upgraded by adding a 350MHz card from a 9600. I have 512MB of RAM, an 18GB 50 pin internal SCSI drive and a 4GB SCSI drive which has 7.6.1 installed. It is a fast computer running any of the Mac OSes it supports and using XPostFacto it can do a decent job of running 10.2 on its native 604ev processor.

I was not able to get this to boot nor install 7.6.1 from a Universal 7.6.1 CD, but did dig out the old original installer CD which booted and installed 7.6.1.

This 8600 is my third Mac. My first was an SE/30, which was replaced by a Quadra 840. The SE/30 is now running A/UX but used very little. The Quadra 840 runs 7.1 and is used mostly for audio work. The 8600 is mostly for play and for an archiving items with scanner.

Anyway that about covers it.
